The Morning After Cohen

it was as if we never knew her
the day had broken
the cheerleaders gone
the wax was sleeping on the turret and the porch
in ruins of the fire our passions had torched

it was as if we never knew her
the dance she had taken
with the songs she had sung
the wine that had flowed from the goblets of fire
all lay in ashes they once called desire

it was as if we never knew her
her bonfire kisses
her fingertip lusts
her Campari glances and Chardonnay tears
all gone like summer for a ten thousand years

oh hail Lady Midnight
you blush
and you lie
you peddle dreams and heartbreaks for a two-penny song
the morning that follows a night gone all wrong

This is the second time I am reading this, and I must say your poem speaks its own language. Have been reading different meanings into this every time. Way to go!!

Here is a very visual poem; the kind of poetry that actually makes you see the emotions lying spent like ashes and imagine what the "night gone all wrong" might have been like. It's a poem that stirs emotions; makes you feel as you read.

Ranitda the poems really speak the life....that always flows and just keep on the baton passing towards the next one....thats what to say about ranitda....the very positive and lively man in our team....what bout to say the boss when he just not bossying, when he excuses his team-member for every personal reason, extends his help even if you are not in his team, sitting far away from kolkata, in an alien city without friends, one can just think of ranitda and gets inspiration for making a new friend....thats how the life goes on....the baton of friendship can be forwarded....ranitda cheers!
